 Hoje, 28 de maio, celebramos o aniversário de uma pessoa que mudou para sempre a forma como enxergamos o voluntariado e a humanização hospitalar. Parabéns, Dr. Patch Adams! 

Mais do que uma inspiração, Patch Adams é um exemplo vivo de que cuidar vai muito além da medicina tradicional. Ele nos ensinou que humanizar é parte essencial de qualquer tratamento, e que o riso, o afeto e a empatia também curam.

Tivemos o privilégio de ouvir relatos emocionantes da nossa querida Roberta, que compartilhou com todos nós um pouco da sua convivência com ele durante uma viagem à Rússia. Vivenciar de perto esse exemplo de amor e entrega, sem dúvida, é algo transformador e que reforça a importância do que o Big Riso faz todos os dias.

Sua história, eternizada no filme “Patch Adams: O Amor é Contagioso”, interpretado brilhantemente por Robin Williams, segue sendo contada, compartilhada e, acima de tudo, praticada por todos aqueles que acreditam no poder do cuidado, da empatia e da alegria.

Today, May 28th, we celebrate the birthday of a person who changed forever the way we see the volunteer and the humanitarian. Congratulations, Dr. Patch Adams! 🎂

As an example of care that goes beyond traditional medicine, Patch Adams is an inspiration. He taught us that humanization is an essential part of any treatment, and that laughter, affect, and empathy also heal.

We had the privilege of hearing the emotional story of our dear Roberta, who shared with all of us a little of her coexistence with him during the trip to Russia. Living close to this example of love and surrender, no doubt, is something transforming and reinforcing the importance of what Big Riso makes every day.

His story, eternalized in the movie "Patch Adams," interpreted brilliantly by Robin Williams, continues to be told, shared, and, above all, practiced by everybody who believes in the power of care, empathy, and happiness.
